The Knot surveys real wedding couples every year. This year they surveyed more than 13,000 couples who planned their weddings in 2016. Average Time Spent Wedding Planning: 15 Hours Per Week Average Number of Vendors Hired for the Wedding Day: 10
Some Fun Wedding Trends 80% of couples do all or some of their wedding planning at work. 15% of couples got in trouble for doing wedding planning at work and 5% were fired for doing wedding planning at work. 45% of couples surveyed said that they went over budget (they probably didn’t have a wedding planner).
Couples are inviting less guests in order to improve the guest experience. Even though the average number of guests has decreased the average amount spent per guest has increased; as couples are placing more emphasis on their guest’s experience. There is a trended focus on the party with signature cocktails and unique entertainment. Couples are making their wedding their own; as 40% of couples seek a unique wedding venue that reflects their style and personality as opposed to a traditional venue.
