What is the Difference Between a Venue Coordinator and a Wedding Planner

February 4, 2017

A Venue Coordinator is an employee of your Venue. Therefore, their responsibility is to the venue and to ensure that you receive the services that you contracted with them for your wedding day.

Unlike a Wedding Planner, they are not responsible for your vendor coordination or the scheduling of your wedding day events. They will not contact your vendors to confirm details or prepare a day-of timeline for your wedding. They do not ensure that your wedding is running on schedule or that the vendors have arrived and delivered per contract. They do not orchestrate the ceremony line-up or the introduction of the couple and the wedding party. They will not ensure that your event décor is set up as you wish and they will not ensure that your personal belongings and gifts are sent to your designated destination. If you do not have a Wedding Planner these responsibilities will be placed on friends and family. You have worked so hard for this day and there are no do-overs. You deserve to enjoy your day and your family’s focus should be on you, not on if your cake arrived.
